The State Russian Centre of Photography (ROSPHOTO) presents a version of «Old St.-Petersburg» with over twenty early XIX century photographs by well known European masters. Among the images are those created in "Boissonas&Eggler " studio (founded in 1902 by the Swiss Frederic Boissonas and German master Fritz Eggler) as well as those of Emile Huard.
The current exhibition continues within ROSPHOTO's important activity of revealing and research of masterpieces of photography in Russian archives and museum collections. Furthermore, the project seeks to attract public attention to the current image of St.-Petersburg as the city is experiencing yet another wave of transformation.
The images on display at the House of Cinema belong to the archive of the Institute of Material Culture History at the Russian Academy of Sciences
